About the Founder

Dr. Amy Delgado

I’m Dr. Amy Delgado—a proud Latina educator, devoted mother, and passionate writer with a heart full of stories waiting to be told. I founded Lila Tree Publishing because I believe every child deserves to open a book and see someone who looks like them, speaks like them, and dreams like them staring back from the pages.

Growing up navigating between two cultures is a beautiful journey filled with unique challenges and profound joys. I wanted to create stories that honor this experience—books that help children walk confidently in both worlds, celebrate their multilingual voices, and embrace their rich cultural heritage with pride and confidence.

Lila Finds Her Voice was born from that mission—a story rooted in identity, language, and the transformative power of being heard. Through my daughters’ and granddaughter’s eyes, I’ve witnessed firsthand how representation matters. Lila Tree Publishing is more than a publishing house; it’s a space for stories that feel like home, where young readers discover that their bilingual journey is not just valid—it’s extraordinary.

FAQ

Are the Lila books bilingual?

Our Lila storybooks are written in English with Spanish naturally woven throughout—just like conversations in many bilingual homes. They’re meant to celebrate culture, family, and language in a way that feels real and inspiring.
Our coloring books are fully bilingual, with English on top and Spanish on the bottom of each page—perfect for language learning and fun at home or in classrooms.

What age group are the books best for?

Lila’s books are made for children ages 5–8, ideal for early readers, classrooms, and family story times. Younger children enjoy the colorful illustrations, while older kids connect with the cultural themes and Spanish phrases woven into the story.

Where can I buy the books?

All Lila Tree titles are available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and through our website. We also love meeting readers at library events, community story times, and pop-ups, so keep an eye out for us in your area.

Can Lila Tree help me publish my own book?

Yes! Lila Tree offers boutique publishing support for authors who want to share bilingual, cultural, or values-based stories. From polishing your manuscript to launching your book, we guide you through each step with care and clarity — while you keep full ownership of your work.

Do you collaborate with schools or organizations?

Absolutely. We love partnering with educators, libraries, nonprofits, and cultural programs to host bilingual story times, workshops, and author visits. If you’d like to bring Lila to your classroom or community, get in touch — we’d love to make it happen.
